Artists keep 100% of their profits and only pay rent for shelf space.
Meowbunnybear is a non-typical consignment style shop where our vendors rent out shelf space on a monthly basis. Our shop only acts as a pass-through transaction point so all vendors keep 100% of their profits.
The Shelves:
We took a look at similar shops and did our best to give the most reasonable pricing. We want it to be affordable and worthwhile for our fellow artists and small businesses. We also decided to offer wall spaces that are larger than other standard large wall spaces, rather than trying to fit more shelves in. See the table below on this page for shelf pricing.
All spaces (excluding discovery shelves) have an initial 3 month commitment term with a 1 month deposit. After the initial term, spaces will be automatically charged on a month by month basis.
If an artist or vendor wants to end their lease or upgrade their shelf space, notice must be given 1 month in advance.
All sheles have lights installed to luminate your items, however additional lighting equipment may be provided by you as long as they are USB powered. This should be coordinated with our staff!
Payment, Taxes and Fees:
All vendors are to include taxes (GST + PST of a combined 12%) in their prices. You are fully responsible to be a registered business and to remit taxes on your payouts.
You will keep 100% of your profits. Payouts will be made at the beginning every following month.
Customers will be charged a standard service fee of 13% which goes towards the upkeep of the business as we are only acting as a sales intermediary on your behalf, making pass through transactions. In addition the service fee will also go towards marketing and advertising the shop.
The Preparation:
Once you've been accepted to join us, we will contact you with onboarding information and instructions. Below is the gist of it:
Inventory:
Although shop staff will help, ultimately, it is each vendor's responsibility to keep track of their own inventory. All items must be properly labelled in order to be ready for sale. Our shop provides a labelling service for those who need assistance with this task.
Each vendor will receive their own account connected to the shop where you will be able to check sales and inventory. From this platform you will be able to create your own labels with automated SKUs and pricing.
Restocking:
All vendors are provided with overstock bins to which staff will restock your shelfs at no cost.
Vendors can come to restock their products and overstock bins during open store hours as long as staff is notified. Vendors may also send in restock items but are responsible for any shipping fees.
Overstock:
Your items must fit within your bin space. Bin dimensions are provided for each space size in your onboarding packet as well as in the shelf descriptions of this page. All products sent to the shop must already be labeled and ready for sale.
Move-in:
All vendors will be given at least a 1 month notice prior to when their move in dates are, this is for you to prepare for your set up. Instructions for onboarding will be sent out via email for setting up accounts, payments and shelf displays.
Out of town vendors: You can send us your display and items for us to set up. There will be a set up fee according to your space size. Shipments must be received at minimum, 3 days before your given date. Shelf design services are also available.
Cancelling & Move-out:
If you want to cancel your monthly membership, a minimum notice of 1 month prior is required. There is a freeze period between December to February where cancellations are not possible.
You will be contacted via email to coordinate your move-out dates.
Your space must be clean with nothing left behind by the end of your move-out period.
You will receive your final payout and deposit at the beginning of the following month.
Out of town vendors: You will be charged a take-down fee equivalent to the set-up fee.
Shipping costs are to be covered by the vendors and this will be reflected in your final payout.
Safety & Quality Service
A big issue with many similar stores is the issue of safety and theft. We are planning for camera security and a system to be in place. Our goal is also to make things as easy as possible for fellow artists and makers, and in order to do this, we will strive to always look for ways to improve our processes and systems. We are looking into security tags to be available for all our artists.
We understand the stress and workload that comes with being a small business, and so at meowbunnybear, we want to provide great service to show you that we care and understand what it's like being an artist.

Communication
We will create a discord server for faster updates, shop statistics and areas for vendors to communicate with staff and fellow vendors. Formal business related items will still be sent via email to each individual.
Warnings & Rules
Late Shelf Payments
The shelf rent date starts on the day you start vending in the shop and is charged automatically the same day of each month from your start date.
In the case of a late payment, your payout will be withheld until the payment is made.
We will send you a late notice after 5 business days of not receiving the payment.
Your contract will be terminated, your products will be removed, and your deposit will not be returned if:
-
Your payment is late for more than 15 days.
-
You receive more than 3 late notices in the span of 6 months
Inventory Irresponsibility
We will only email you if your stock is low and your shelf is visibly bare. This should only occur within reason as repeat offenses show that you are not responsible for your own space. Any lateness on your part should be properly communicated.
Non-Compliance
If after receiving warnings, there is a continuation of not following the rules or any hostile behavior from a vendor, this will result in immediate termination and a permanent ban from the shop.
Sub-leasing a spot to another artist or vendor is prohibited.
